Who do you think you are, asking me where I come from? From this provocation, Bochum ensemble member Mercy Dorcas Otieno takes us on the hurdle race of an identity construction. In the course of the evening she has developed, the player reflects on the extent to which we ourselves determine who we are. And what power a foreign society can gain over our own self-construction. What privileges are granted to us by society purely on the basis of our identity? With angry laughter and all the loud and quiet overtones of identity doubt, this evening asks its audience uncomfortable questions – like a good naturalization test.
